A Night to Remember

A Night to Remember

The 5th Annual Mark Robinson Memorial turned out to be one of the greatest shows we've had since the series started. Robert Elliott and Hesston Shaw were only 16 points apart in the race for the season championship at the start of the night. Shaw knew that he would have to win not only his heat race but the feature as well if he wanted to take the championship home. But it got tougher as the night went on when Elliott and Shaw both won their heat, setting them to start first and second in the feature in a head to head battle for the championship. 31 Drivers showed up to fight for 20 spots in the Chevrolet Hudiburg A feature, with drivers battling for points to hold their top ten positions and hopefully take home the $1,250 purse.

The 26 lap Chevrolet Hudiburg A Feature had us on the edge of our seats from the green to the checkered flag. Shaw and Elliot battled and exchanged the lead throughout the race. Jeffrey Kaup of Woodward, started 6th and finished 3rd in the race. Brandon Gritz, winner of the hard charger award and Rookie of the Year, moved up 13 spots to finish 4th. Todd Decker moved up two spots to round out the top 5. The remainder of the field: Rob Bland, Jared Baird, Shawn Jorski, Steve Robinson, Jeff Rozelle, Glenn Wiley, Glen Chapa, Jimmy Manharth, David Givens, Jerry Colby, Steve Clemmons, Travis Penrod, Mark Harrison, Don Reid and Jimmie Wright. Hesston Shaw took home the feature win, his first win in the series.

The 2018 Raffle winner, Brandon Gritz, won the Savage hunting Rifle provided by Hi-Teck Tactical.

We congratulate all the drivers and their crews for putting on a great show for the fans!

2018 Season
Robert Elliott finished the season with a 2nd place finish in the feature and took home the 2018 Sooner Limited Modified Series Championship. Elliot had three 1st place finishes this season, raced 13 series events and finished first in the points among 161 drivers. A HUGE congratulations to him, owner Johnnie Rauschenberg and their crew on their success this season.

Hesston Shaw fought hard for the championship and finished the season 2nd, 11 points behind Elliott. He had one 1st place finish and raced 13 events. Hesston did himself and crew proud throughout the season.

Todd Decker of Edmond, OK finished 3rd for the season, Jared Baird of Norman, OK finished 4th, Jeff Rozelle of Newalla, OK (season 2017 champion) finished 5th, Brandon Gritz of Enid, OK finished 6th (and won 2018 Rookie of the Year), Frank Stapp of Maud, OK finished 7th, Preston Crawford of Newalla, OK finished 8th, Don Reid of OKC, OK finished 9th, and Jimmie Wright of Piedmont, OK finished 10th.
