Shaffer, Starnes and Mahaffey Post East/West Showdown Victories During Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Event at Red Dirt Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – MEEKER, Okla. (Sept. 2, 2018) – Daniel Shaffer, Joey Starnes and Shawn Mahaffey were victorious on Sunday evening during Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass competition at Red Dirt Raceway, which hosted the East/West Showdown.

Shaffer extended his lead in the Stock Non-Wing championship standings thanks to his division-leading third triumph of the season. Jace McIntosh posted a runner-up result with Daison Pursley third, Jack Kassik fourth and Trey Burke fifth.

Pursley and Burke earned quick time during East qualifying sessions and Jared Dunkin set quick time during the West qualifying session. Shaffer and McIntosh each won an East heat race while Kassik claimed the lone West heat race.

Starnes captured his second career Winged ‘A’ Class victory. McIntosh finished second with series points leader Jim Woods in third. Jase Randolph ended fourth and Pursley was fifth.

McIntosh set quick time in the East session and was the East heat race winner. Starnes was quickest in West qualifying before Woods won the West heat race.

Mahaffey powered to his fifth Restricted ‘A’ Class win of the season. Championship points leader Ryder Laplante earned a runner-up result with Ryan Timms third, Brant Woods fourth and Elizabeth Phillips fifth.

Phillips established quick time in the East session and Mahaffey was the East heat race winner. Timms set both quick time and won a heat race during the West action.

The Lucas Oil NOW600 Series will return to competition Oct. 19-20 at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla., for the Pete Frazier Memorial.
