Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Set for Four-Race Sooner 600 Week in Kansas and Oklahoma

Inside Line Promotions – DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (June 18, 2018) – The busiest week of the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass season has arrived as the 2nd annual Sooner 600 Week is about to get underway.

The event features four straight nights of action at four different tracks in Kansas and Oklahoma. All three premier classes – Stock Non-Wing, Winged ‘A’ Class and Restricted ‘A’ Class – will race each night.

The action begins on Wednesday at Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan., for the first of three NOW600 Series shows there this year. Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., hosts its second NOW600 Series event of the season on Thursday. Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla., welcomes the series on Friday for the first time this year before Sooner 600 Week wraps up on Saturday at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla., where the series kicked off the season with a tripleheader in March.

Daniel Shaffer enters the four-race event as the leader in the Stock Non-Wing championship standings by only six points over Daison Pursley. Trey Burke is 28 points out of the lead.

Shaffer is tied with Chris Cochran with a pair of division-leading triumphs.

Jim Woods holds a 19-point advantage over Pursley in the Winged ‘A’ Class championship standings. Harley Hollan ranks third – only 43 points behind Woods.

Pursley leads the division with a trio of victories.

Ryan Timms owns a 13-point edge in the Restricted ‘A’ Class championship standings. Ryder Laplante is second with Kale Drake third, only 15 points out of the lead.

Garth Kasiner leads the division with two wins.

The gates open at 5 p.m. with racing scheduled for 8 p.m. each night. The pill draw will open at 5:30 p.m. and will close once the drivers meeting begins at 6:45 p.m. the first three nights. The pill draw opens at 5 p.m. with the drivers meeting at 6:30 p.m. during the finale at Port City Raceway.
