Season Finale Showdown At Red Dirt Raceway Goes To Justin Grant

Season Finale Showdown At Red Dirt Raceway Goes To Justin Grant

MEEKER, Okla. (October 26, 2024) Describing it as a "slide or die" kind of track, Justin Grant applied that to the limit Saturday night at Red Dirt Raceway as the driver of the NOS Energy No. 4 wheeled to his ninth win of the season with the USAC Amsoil Sprint Car National Champion, and first with the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating.

Giving USAC a 3-0 record on the season against the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series, Grant paced fourth at the drop of the checkered flag as Robert Ballou took off with the race lead. Threading through traffic to second on Lap 11, caution lights followed as Matt Sherrell spun in Turn 3.

Setting up Grant for a shot at gold, the restart saw Justin immediately throw the slide at Ballou. Clearing onto the backstretch, Robert tried to counter going into the third and fourth turns but could not clear.

Traffic by Lap 18, Grant's advantage began to shrink with Ballou and Daison Pursley in pursuit, but it would not prove enough to deny Justin the night's $10,000 score.

Robert Ballou held on for silver with Daison Pursley in tow. Logan Seavey and C.J. Leary made up the top five.

Holding a four-point advantage going into the season's final race on Saturday night, R.J. Miller was able to keep Paul White in the rearview mirror to secure the 2024 ASCS Elite Non-Wing Championship by seven markers. Miller was also the night's Inferno Armor Fire Move of the Night recipient.

The ASCS Elite Wing and Non-Wing Series is owned and operated by Nathan Moore and operates under the sanction of the American Sprint Car Series. Rules for both tours can be found at http://www.ascsracing.com. Nathan can be reached at (903) 780-9934 or by email at elitenonwingsprints@gmail.com.
